How to solve insufficient storage space on android devices

Hello I would be  treating the case of low storage space on android devices.

This Is the most problem android. Users face and most of them are now deleting most of there files because of low storage issue.

There are many things that can lead to a low storage space on an android device.




Recently my phone started giving me alerts about low storage..

I had to uninstall one of my favorite games (Asphalt and left only FIFA 14. I must say it really hurt me removing the game but I had no other option. After some days the low on space error came up again. I decided to go through all the hidden folders on my phone.

Every file Manager has an option to show hidden files but if yours doesn't. Download ES file Explorer. The folder that takes up space on your phone is probably the THUMBNAIL folder.

This is a huge problem on android

Let me explain why the folder
takes space.

Whenever you watch a video on your phone, the phone converts each clip of the video to tiny image
thumbnails as its playing,as time goes on the clips accumulate to a very huge size. Imagine playing a 2 hour video
and each clip is converted to tiny thumbnails.  Up to 80mb space, while taking images, downloading, playing music, every activity you do on your android device creates a little tiny thumbnail which you wouldnt know about.

Even clips from deleted videos still remain in the folder. When I
deleted the folder, 3.5gb of space was freed up. The folder can be found in the DCIM folder

Launch the ES file explorer
click on scan

It would scan all your documents installed on your device.

Now you can find the thumbnails on Large files .

It's best you delete those thumbnails because it consumes space .

You can as well use other feature there like Duplicate files etc to clear space.
