BlackBerry Officially stops manufacturing smartphones

BlackBerry has officially stopped manufacturing new cell phones.

There is much competition in the gadgets sector with the likes of Apple iPhone, Samsung etc dominating.

Well I saw this coming after they announced that the won't be producing BB classic device,

BlackBerry was one time the leading company in terms of phone gadgets.

Back in October 2015, CEO of blackberry, John Chen said quote:

"the company would exit the smartphone business, which has been on life support for years, if it cannot turn a profit in 2016."

Unfortunately, it seems BlackBerry didn't actually yield much profit. So they once again made an announcement in their Q2 Fiscal 2017 results:
“Our new Mobility Solutions strategy is showing signs of momentum, including our first major device software licensing agreement with a telecom joint venture in Indonesia. Under this strategy, we are focusing on software development, including security and applications. The company plans to end all internal hardware development and will outsource that function to partners. This allows us to reduce capital requirements and enhance return on invested capital”.

Now Blackberry will venture into software creation and security applications. I won't blame them from opting-out, BB didn't get all the support they needed:

- Firstly, Facebook turned its back on them by making FB unsupported on the device.

- Paypal also stopped its app from working on blackberry.

- And WhatsApp nailed it all. Imagine, you're using BB and you can't whatsapp, so bad.

All these and more caused the downfall of this company. But who will blackberry give their hardware development to?

One min silence for those who gave there all and all for BB Bold 5
